Confuse Morality with Christianity?

Gotta love the recent attack by Pastor Robert Jeffress who said that people confuse morality with Christianity. Now, does he realize the implications of what he is saying there? It just amazes me the stuff they will come up with to try to discredit the church.

Actually, I recall that the savior did equate Morality with christianity in many places. I was reading tonight in John 13. He said, "A New commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another... By this shall men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another" He didn't say "By this shall men know that ye are my desciples, if you beleive in the trinity". Jesus taught that his desciples will be known for their moral choices.

How wrong Pastor Jeffress is.

He has a point. People can be moral without being Christian.

Yes, I certianly see what you mean. Most Buddists I have met are quite moral people.

But here's the question, can we be Christian without being moral in our choices? We can certianly call ourselves christian all we want, but are we christian unless we follow christ's teachings of being moral?

I honestly believe that there are many people who are better christians than many many professed christians that are agnostic, Atheist or from another faith alltogether.

That's just how I see it.

Sure.

People can claim their Jewish yet do nothing but celebrate cultural traditions.

Are they truly Christian no? I don'
t think so. But there's no authoritative body that decides who's Christian, so there's nothing stopping someone from self identifying as one.
